About This Course:
Objectives/content/outcomes of Course- To have an understanding of the environment in a social and scientific sense – 0verview of primary science
- To enable active exploration and investigation of the environment
through well-planned practical investigations – workshops & nature
walks - To apply the scientific approach to investigations leading to the development of important skills-observing, questioning, predicting, investigating, understanding and
thinking logically about living things and their environments,
materials, forces, everyday situations and problems. - To use ICT in recording and analyzing information and in communicating scientific information and findings.
- Application of the skills and knowledge acquired through designing
and making activities in which is perceived a need to create or modify
elements of the environment. We will use recycled materials to make a
variety of items e.g. pencil holder, shopping bag........ participants will
choose. - To show that science is an active process of personal construction of meaning and understanding
- To adopt safe practices and to observe safety procedures To provide suggestions for cross-curricular integration
- To give practical advice on planning at school level and at a class level
