Circle of Security Parenting – Classroom Approach (COSP-C)
Target Audience: Open to Junior Infant Teachers in Co. Clare with a maximum of 8 teachers in the group. Complete EOI HERE.
COSP-C approach offers critical organising principles from attachment theory to improve teacher confidence and competence in relationship building. This, in turn, fosters strong secure teacher-student relationships, and ultimately, student learning.
With a COSP-C facilitator, groups of teachers engage in reflective discussion around an interactive curriculum which provides a clear model of children’s attachment need, and the importance of the teacher in responding to these needs. This professional learning environment supports teachers in seeing the ways attachment needs are communicated by behaviour and misbehaviour. Teachers gain more awareness of the underlying social-emotional needs communicated by behaviour and more confidence to meet these attachment needs within the relationship.
The closing date for expressing that interest is Tuesday, 16th January 2024.
