NEPS Group Consultation Meetings for Post-Primary Special Education Teachers & Special Class Teachers

Teacher Practice Group Consultation

Complete Expression of Interest HERE (Closing Date 16th January 2024)

Teacher practice group consultation involves schools being clustered together to access support sessions. These sessions follow structured consultation models and will involve teachers coming together to problem solve about professional issues. These are issues that arise in the teaching/ learning context, but should not be about individual children/young people. The sessions will be facilitated by two NEPS psychologists. Sessions have the following aims for teachers:

  • Enable you to develop a plan of action to address your concerns.
  • Enable you to benefit from the experience and skills of colleagues in formulating ideas and planning strategies.

Participants will have the opportunity to raise a wide range of issues, and to draw on the experience of teachers from other schools in the county working in similar settings. An emphasis is placed on sharing of resources and expertise between participants to promote best practice in supporting students with special educational needs.
