CESI Conference 2020 - Our Evolving Learning Landscape

The 2020 annual conference of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland (CESI) will take place on 29th February 2020 in Athlone at the Athlone Institute of Technology.
The Friday evening CESI TeachMeet will take place at the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone. Poster attached. The call for TeachMeet proposals is open through 31st January.
The 2020 conference occurs at a very exciting time in Irish education. Leaving Certificate Computer Science students will sit the first ever examination of the subject this year. Computing is now ubiquitous across the Irish curriculum. Since CESI’s inception, that has been a goal of this organisation, and 2020 is a special year for us. However, CESI does not rest; there is more work to be done. As we strengthen the CESI•CS community of practice, and grow our grassroots community, our conference remains an annual highlight. The 2020 conference will showcase the ever evolving practice of Irish educators, and provide an exciting snapshot of this banner year.  Read more HERE.

Teachers' Professional Network Scheme - Survey of Post-Primary Teachers

Survey of Post-Primary Teachers
Through the Teachers’ Professional Networks (TPN) Supplementary Scheme, the Department of Education and Skills financially supports the activities of a range of Teachers’ Groups and Associations (TGAs) across the country, towards their provision of professional development events and supports for post primary teachers in specific subjects or in areas of specific interest. Blackrock Education Centre (BEC) manages and administers the Scheme on behalf of the Department.
To help ensure the Scheme meets its objectives effectively and efficiently, the Department has commissioned an independent evaluation of the TPN Scheme, and has appointed Fitzpatrick Associates Economic Consultants Ltd to undertake the evaluation.
As part of the evaluation, a survey of all teachers in post primary schools is being initiated, and you are kindly requested to circulate this message to all post primary teachers in your school, requesting their participation in the survey.
The survey is entirely confidential, and no personal information or contact details of schools, Education Centres or post primary teachers has been or will be sought by or provided to the consultants, and all survey responses will be anonymous, and treated in confidence. Findings will only be reported in aggregate and in ways which uphold the anonymity of the respondents. Responses will furthermore only be accessible to the independent consultants, with no responses accessible by TGAs, the Department of Education and Skills, Schools, Education Centres, or any other parties.
