Make-a-Wish New Leadership Programme for Transition Year Students - Wish Leaders Programme
Make-A-Wish would love to introduce their exciting new leadership programme for transition year students - Wish Leaders programme. This includes exclusive videos from inspirational figures in the areas of business, sports, and entertainment. These videos focus on a pivotal moment in the speaker’s life or career and how they overcome challenges. Students are encouraged to identify and discuss the leadership skills in the stories they hear and then to put those skills into practice in organising a fundraiser to help grant wishes to seriously ill children. They have over 100 schools registered now, and the feedback has been amazing. Also registration is free and there is no requirement to commit to a minimum amount of funds raised. Any funds students do successfully raise will go towards granting the wishes of children in Ireland who are living with life-threatening illnesses. Students will...
- Learn about leadership qualities
- Gain insight into dealing with challenging situations
- Put leadership skills into practice
- Develop project & planning skills
- Contribute to the wellbeing of seriously ill children & their community
The programme may contribute to schools wellbeing, SPHE or Gaisce hours. Most of all, this initiative will inspire and develop leadership skills, encouraging students to ‘reach for the stars’ and believe anything is possible, just like our wish children do. For full details, download our programme brochure: https://www.makeawish.ie/images/uploads/documents/WL_Programme_Guide.pdf To Register, visit https://www.makeawish.ie/get-involved/wish-leaders-sign-up
