DATE: Tue, 24 November 2020
TIME: 7pm to 8pm
VENUE: Online
Join us for a fun introduction to using STEAM Approaches to teaching upper primary science, with one easily implementable lesson included!
STEAM Education specialise in the development and delivery of fun hands-on participatory programmes in science, technolog, engineering, arts and maths. We have worked with hundreds of schools around the country to deliver STEAM-in-a-Box programmes.
Join us in this webinar for an introduction to using STEAM approaches to upper primary science!
Managing Director (scientist and arts facilitator) Dr. Alice D’Arcy and in-house primary science teacher of the year Sinead McGleenon will introduce what we mean by a STEAM approach, and how we can use this approach to make primary science teaching more fun, participatory, accessible, inclusive, creative and relevant - even with Covid restrictions.
We will demonstrate, with your participation, a STEAM Science Activity [Human Biology focused] and provide a lesson plan and list of easily accessible materials to take away so you can implement it in your classroom. We will also introduce our range of Schools Edition STEAM Science Boxes and STEM Company supported programmes - if your school would like to do a more comprehensive programme. Check them out here: http://www.steam-ed.ie/pdfs/School-Edition-.pdf
Developed by a team of STEM and Arts professionals, tried and tested by thousands of upper primary school children and their teachers!
We hope you will join us!
