The Irish Heart Foundation’s NEW Bizzy Breaks programme for primary schools is packed with ideas for physical activity and mindfulness in the classroom; whether it’s for a brain break to help with concentration, an energiser to break up sitting time or a transition between lessons, Bizzy Breaks has an activity for you.
- Minimal equipment or preparation required.
- Covid friendly (adapted for physical distancing/pods).
- Ideal for SPHE and promoting wellbeing.
- Perfect for use indoors and in small classrooms (many activities can also be done outdoors).
- 5-to-10-minute activities.
- All activities are linked to the curriculum to help integrate Bizzy Breaks into the school day.
- Printable and interactive learning resources (lesson plans, worksheets, presentations) for a variety of subjects to complement activities.
- Contributes to the daily 60 minutes of physical activity recommended for children’s health.
