A two hour thought provoking Workshop for Teachers and SNAs.
This workshop will be delivered by Edel Lawlor, Expressive Play and Therapy Centre Kerry. Edel has over 20 years’ experience and is passionate about supporting children in society. Edel specialises in working with children and is an established trainer in Kerry and Nationally.
Edel is known for her unique manner of delivering workshops by engaging participants in a creative way to make training both enjoyable and memorable.
About this workshop
How many children are there in our schools or services that have been and remain misunderstood? It seems that our services are filling up with increasing numbers of distressed children. People who work with children can be left feeling disempowered and de-skilled as they try to teach them or support them. The longer we fail to connect with these children, the longer the child will miss out in opportunities in helping them realize their potential.
Special needs assistants are key in supporting children emotionally as well as academically within the class room environment. Often behaviours occur that may need extra attention and guidance, in this workshop Edel will explore
