The Top to Bottom of Junior Cycle Geography Education Webinar Series
In this 6-part webinar series Lee will be covering his top-to-bottom approach of teaching and learning in the Junior Cycle Geography classroom. The aim of the webinar series is to provide teachers with innovative and practical strategies that enhance teacher effectiveness and student engagement in the Junior Cycle geography classroom.
Each webinar in this series is grounded in evidence-based practice and tailored specifically to the needs of the JC Geography specification.
The series is broken down into the six topics. Please note you will need to register for each session individually.

Through this webinar Lee will discuss how he optimizes the order and structure of classroom activities to maximize learning outcomes for students in JC geography lessons.
This webinar will carefully walk though how Lee uses the core knowledge created during the practical planning of the JC Geography curriculum to carefully structure independent practice that is responsive to student’s increasing understanding.
Additionally, Lee will share his experience of differentiating student independent practice to meet the individual needs students with a wide range of learning abilities. Lee will share explicit strategies that he uses in his DEIS school environment to ensure differentiation is tailored to meet the specific needs of individual students.

Bio of Presenter: Lee O' Donnell
Lee O’Donnell is a teacher of Geography & History at Woodbrook College in Wicklow. He is the Author of ‘The Natural World’ LC Geography book with Edco. Additionally, Lee is the co-author of a Junior Cycle History Book. Geography/History Methodology Lecturer at University College Dublin. LC History content creator for Exam Revision. Host of the Leaving Certificate revision podcast ‘Skin in the Game’. Additionally, he holds an Assistant Principal II post in his school.
