Content: Group Planning for Leaders and Deputy Leaders
This specialised Group planning session will support school leaders and coordinating Special Education Teachers in accessing the new Guidelines for Post-Primary Schools Supporting Young People with Special Educational Needs in Mainstream Classes as well as providing advice and guidance on how post-primary schools can best access and use their support from NEPS.

Content will include but not be limited to the evolving role of the SET Teacher, NEPS’ engagement with Post-Primary schools, effective timetabling, Student Support Teams, managing critical incidents. All school leaders are invited to attend and further sessions will be available to SET teachers as part of the Group Consultation Model (see dates below).

School leaders will have the opportunity to raise a wide range of issues, and to draw on the experience of leaders from other schools in the county. An emphasis is placed on the sharing of expertise as to how to implement and promote best practice in supporting students with special educational needs.
