Webinar 2: Communication Differences and How to Support Them
Not all communication looks the same, and so, not every approach looks the same. In this practical and affirming session, Senior Speech and Language Therapist, Amy Collins (@amysclt), explores the rich variety of communication styles used by autistic children, including supporting non-speaking children using AAC and Gestalt Language Processing (GLP), and features real life experiences from autistic teenagers, adults and parents of autistic children.
Teachers and SNAs will gain clarity on how to support communication without pressure, nurture authentic interactions, and learn more about supporting non/minimally speaking students, using a range of AAC supports, from low to high tech.
