DATE:   Mondays - 10th October, 14th November, 12th December 2022, 16th January, 20th February, 13th March, 17th April & 15th May 2023
TIME:    7.30pm to 8.30pm

The Online SENCO Forum aims to bring together a network of teachers working in inclusive/special education in Post-Primary Schools. The network aims to provide professional learning, support and networking opportunities for teachers. The content covered in the sessions will be decided by its members. If you are a Principal, Deputy Principal, Special Education Teacher or SEN Co-Ordinator in a Post-Primary school and would like to find out more about the network, please join us.


  • 10th October- Individualised planning for students with SEN
  • 14th November- Supporting students with literacy difficulties at post-primary
  • 12th December- Supporting students with numeracy difficulties at post-primary
  • 16th January- Teaching self-regulation at post-primary
  • 20th February- Understanding behaviour and developing social skills at post-primary
  • 13th March- Co-teaching as a model of provision at post-primary
  • 17th April- Transition from primary to post-primary for pupils with SEN (co-presenting with Geraldine O' Loughlin)
  • 15th May- The role of the SENCO at post-primary.

Facilitator: Rose-Marie Flanagan (B.Ed., M.Ed. in SEN)

Rose-Marie Flanagan (B.Ed., M.Ed. in SEN,Post-Graduate Diploma in SEN) is Principal at St. Anne's School in Ennis and has experience working as a mainstream teacher, SET,  special class teacher and SENCO. She has worked as both an Advisor and an Associate with the NCSE since 2015. She completed a Master’s in Special Education in MIC in 2011. Her interests are in Inclusion Policy and Practice; Social and Emotional Learning; Positive Behaviour Support for students and Assistive Technology.
