Webinar Overview:
The nature of science underpins the whole junior cycle science curriculum and it is often difficult to know how to approach it. This webinar will provide an overview of some simple strategies that I use to teach different aspects of the nature of science.
The webinar will also give participants ideas on how to approach CBA 1 with their class and provid the necessary scaffolding to aid students investigations.
This webinar is suitable for any junior cycle science teacher. Participants will come away with ideas for teaching the nature of science and also a booklet on how to approach CBA 1: The Extended Experimental Investigation with their class.
Bio of Presenter: Naomi Pierce
Naomi Pierce is a teacher of science, biology and chemistry in Avondale Community College in Co. Wicklow. She is a placement tutor for DCU and is currently studying a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning in SETU. Naomi has experience teaching in both a private and DEIS school setting. She is the owner of the Instagram account @the_science_teacher_ where she shares an insight into her everyday teaching and learning, showcasing resources that she uses from other accounts and websites as well as content that she has created herself.
