From One to Many - A Support Group For Educators To Support The Emotional Needs Of Children
DATE: Monday, 23 May 2022
TIME: 5.30pm - 6.30pm
VENUE: Online Via Zoom Meeting
It was Helen Keller who said; “alone we can do little, but together we can do so much!” Teaching can sometimes be a lonely endeavour, especially when the needs of the children in our care go much deeper than curricular goals. More and more, teachers are finding themselves in need of support to meet those needs. Patty Wipfler, author of Listen, advocates for a listening partnership as a crucial part of parenting support, so why not that for teachers?
“From One to Many” is a new initiative by The Treasure Within Therapy in partnership with the Clare Education Centre. Facilitated by Aideen Flynn, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, the focus of this monthly hour session is to provide a supportive space to ask questions and explore solutions for challenges in the area of emotional support for children in the education setting.
Facilitator: Aideen Flynn, PG Dip Ed, MA, M-IAPTP
Aideen has worked with children in educational settings for 20 years, specialising in S.E.N. and children with complex needs. She is a child and adolescent psychotherapist working in private practice in The Treasure Within, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Clinic, Quin, Co. Clare. From here she empowers children, their families and teachers to work together to enable the struggling child be the best he or she can be.
