Aistear: The Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.
This course is run over 3 evenings:
Aistear is the curriculum framework for children from birth to 6 years in Ireland. It provides information for adults to help them plan and provide enjoyable and challenging learning experiences so that children can grow and develop as competent and confident learners.
Aistear describes the types of learning that are important for children in the early years and offers ideas and suggestions as to how this learning might be nurtured.
Aistear also offers guidelines on how we can support children's learning, through partnership with parents, using play as a methodology for learning, learning through interactions and the use of assessment.
Workshops on Aistear focus on what Aistear is, and how to implement it in the infant classroom.
