This course is aimed at teachers and school leaders who wish to develop their presentation and facilitation skills for presenting and facilitating seminars, workshops, meetings etc.  It will be very useful to all tutors or to anybody interested in becoming a course tutor. 

Presentation Skills

1. Understanding your audience: 

  • what do you want them to know; feel (about you and the topic) and do (actions /next steps)?
  • what is their existing knowledge and attitude about the topic?

2. Structure

  • opening/core content/close and what you need to consider under each

3. Delivering confidently

  • tackling nerves; powerful communication through voice and body language
  • developing participation and handling questions

4. Exploring common presentation mistakes and how to avoid them

Facilitation Skills

1. Exploring the difference between presenting and facilitating

2. When you should switch style and how to do this

3. Managing different personality types and specific difficult situations/behaviours

4. Keeping on track and maintaining engagement
