This Course Aims To Enable Participants to:
- Play the tin-whistle to a standard sufficient to teach tin-whistle lessons to their pupils.
- Use music to support the teaching of the Primary Language Curriculum from third to sixth class.
- Increase their repertoire of songs and tin-whistle tunes for use in the classroom.
- Plan and deliver an enjoyable music scheme for their class level and begin to think about a staged, developmentally appropriate whole school plan for music.
- Explore action points for improvement in the areas of music and literacy as part of SSE.
- Explore opportunities for integrating music with other curricular areas such as art and maths.
- Explore how ICT can be utilised in the teaching of music and literacy.
