It is with great pleasure that Clare Education Centre publishes Issue 2 of the Full Steam Ahead magazine. The magazine has been published in conjunction with the STEAMING Erasmus+ Project with the aim of providing teachers with a useful resource for teaching STEAM lessons. This issue of the magazine is based around the skill of ‘Critical Thinking’ and includes a description of a skills-based approach to STEAM lessons in addition to practical ideas for each class level.
The authors of the magazine are a group of teachers with an interest in STEAM teaching and learning. We are indebted to them for their work in the promotion of STEAM in their teaching and in their contributions to workshops and webinars for Clare Education Centre. This work has now led to the publication of fantastic teaching resource. We wish to acknowledge the work of Aaron Carroll (Cratloe NS), Siobhan Barry (Parteen NS), Maeve O’Dwyer (Coore NS), Sharon Brady (O Callaghan’s Mills NS), Davina Kehoe (Cratloe NS), Jo O’Brien (Cratloe NS), Ruth Andrews (Parteen NS) and Rachel O’Donnell (Scoil Iósaf, Newcastlewest). They have been ably led and assisted in their work by Michael Browne.
