DATE: 26th September 2019
TIME: 6pm to 8pm
VENUE: Clare Education Centre
This course is designed to support SNAs in their knowledge of how creative activities such as art can support a child with special educational needs.(SEN).
The first part of the workshop will help SNAs to appreciate how children with SEN may come to terms with their challenges. For example, children on the autistic spectrum will benefit from being in contact with certain art materials, which may increase tolerance for unpleasant stimuli, whilst channelling challenging behaviours, sensory fixations etc into creative activity.
The second part of the workshop is designed to enhance the SNAs understanding and empathy for the children in their care.
